What the Academy Is About

The 212 Lacrosse Training Academy is built on one idea — that players improve fastest in a focused, low-ratio environment where coaching is personal, feedback is immediate, and the atmosphere is built for growth.

🎯

Fundamentals First

Every session is grounded in the core skills that separate good players from great ones.

🗣️

Real-Time Feedback

Coaches provide immediate, individual feedback during every drill and game rep — not at the end, but in the moment it matters most.

👥

Low Player-Coach Ratios

Semi-private sessions ensure every player receives meaningful attention. No one gets lost in a crowd.

🎉

Positive Environment

We train hard and we have fun doing it. A positive, uplifting atmosphere is not a bonus — it's the standard.

What We Work On

Sessions are structured to develop the complete lacrosse player — from individual skills all the way through team concepts.

  • 1
Individual Skills Stick work, shooting, ground balls, and footwork — the building blocks of every lacrosse player.
  • 2
1-on-1 Situations Offensive and defensive fundamentals in isolated matchups — developing the confidence and technique to win individual battles.
  • 3
Small-Sided Games 2-on-2, 3-on-2, and other small-sided formats that maximize reps, decision-making, and competitive intensity in a controlled setting.
  • 4
Transition Fast-break offense, ride and clear, and transition defense — the situations that change games most often.
  • 5
Team Concepts Offensive sets, defensive systems, communication, and team play — developing lacrosse IQ alongside physical skills.

Session Format

Each session progresses intentionally — from individual skill work to small groups to full team application.

  • Warm-up & individual stick work
  • Skill-specific drills with coaching
  • 1-on-1 and small-sided competition
  • Transition & team play
  • Real-time feedback throughout

Skill-Based Grouping, Grades 3–12

To ensure every player gets the most out of each session, the Academy groups athletes by skill level. This approach keeps training competitive, focused, and developmentally appropriate — so every player is challenged at the right pace alongside peers who push them to improve.

🔰

Foundational Group

Players still building core mechanics train together in an environment designed to develop proper technique, confidence, and game awareness at a pace that sets them up for long-term growth.

📈

Development Group

Players with a solid foundation who are ready to elevate their game are grouped together. Sessions focus on closing skill gaps, increasing game speed, and sharpening decision-making.

🏆

Advanced Group

The highest-level players train with each other in sessions built around intensity, advanced concepts, and competitive reps that prepare them for varsity and elite-level play.

Player placement is determined by coaching staff based on observed ability, and athletes may move between groups as they progress. Grouping by skill level also helps reduce the risk of injury by ensuring players compete against others of similar ability and physicality.

Coaching

Academy sessions are led by 212 Lacrosse coaches who bring both competitive playing backgrounds and a genuine commitment to developing young athletes — technically and personally.

Parent Guidelines

Your involvement matters. Here's how you can set your player up for success every session.

  • School first. Academic performance always takes priority.
  • Fuel properly. Ensure your player is well-nourished, hydrated, and rested before every session.
  • Encourage wall ball. 4–6 hours per week builds the stick skills that transform players.
  • Arrive early. Plan to get to sessions before they start — not on time.
  • Pack the night before. Have gear ready the evening before every session to avoid morning rushes.

Financial Aid →

We believe cost should never be a barrier to participation. Financial aid options are available.

Indoor Lacrosse

Indoor lacrosse is one of the most effective ways to accelerate a player's development. Fewer players, faster play, and tighter spaces demand more from every participant — and deliver more in return.

  • 1
Enhanced Skill Development More ball touches and decision-making reps per session than outdoor formats — accelerating skill refinement at every level.
  • 2
Wall Dynamics Enclosed arenas develop anticipation, spatial awareness, and the ability to use every surface — skills that transfer directly to the outdoor game.
  • 3
Technical Precision Compact spaces demand advanced stick-handling and creativity, sharpening the technical edge of every player.
  • 4
Year-Round Engagement Fast-paced gameplay keeps players sharp, motivated, and developing through the off-season.

Indoor Program Details

Held at Basin Recreation Fieldhouse, Park City. Indoor sessions run fall through winter with the next series beginning in November.
