What the Academy Is About

Players improve fastest in a focused, low-ratio environment — where coaching is personal, feedback is immediate, and the atmosphere is built for growth.

🎯

Fundamentals First

Every session is grounded in the core skills that separate good players from great ones.

🗣️

Real-Time Feedback

Immediate, individual feedback during every drill and game rep — in the moment it matters most.

👥

Low Player-Coach Ratios

Semi-private sessions ensure every player receives meaningful attention. No one gets lost in a crowd.

🎉

Positive Environment

We train hard and have fun doing it. A positive, uplifting atmosphere is not a bonus — it's the standard.

What We Work On

Sessions develop the complete lacrosse player — from individual skills all the way through team concepts.

  • 1
Individual Skills Stick work, shooting, ground balls, and footwork — the building blocks of every lacrosse player.
  • 2
1-on-1 Situations Offensive and defensive fundamentals in isolated matchups — developing the confidence and technique to win individual battles.
  • 3
Small-Sided Games 2-on-2, 3-on-2, and other small-sided formats that maximize reps, decision-making, and competitive intensity.
  • 4
Transition Fast-break offense, ride and clear, and transition defense — the situations that change games most often.
  • 5
Team Concepts Offensive sets, defensive systems, communication, and team play — developing lacrosse IQ alongside physical skills.

Session Format

Each session progresses intentionally — from individual skill work to small groups to full team application.

  • Warm-up & individual stick work
  • Skill-specific drills with coaching
  • 1-on-1 and small-sided competition
  • Transition & team play
  • Real-time feedback throughout

Skill-Based Grouping, Grades 3–12

Athletes are grouped by skill level — keeping training competitive, focused, and developmentally appropriate so every player is challenged at the right pace.

🔰

Foundational Group

For players building core mechanics. Focuses on proper technique, confidence, and game awareness at a pace that supports long-term growth.

📈

Development Group

For players with a solid foundation who are ready to level up. Sessions focus on closing skill gaps, increasing game speed, and sharpening decision-making.

🏆

Advanced Group

For the highest-level players. Built around intensity, advanced concepts, and competitive reps that prepare for varsity and elite-level play.

How placement works: Coaching staff assign groups based on observed ability. Players can move between groups as they progress. Skill-based grouping also helps reduce the risk of injury by matching players with others of similar ability and physicality.

Coaching

Sessions are led by coaches with competitive playing backgrounds and a genuine commitment to developing young athletes — technically and personally.

Indoor Lacrosse — Year-Round Development

When outdoor season ends, training moves indoors. Smaller spaces mean more reps, faster decision-making, and sharper stick skills — accelerating development through the off-season.

  • More ball touches per session than outdoor formats
  • Enclosed spaces build anticipation and spatial awareness
  • Compact play demands advanced stick-handling
  • Keeps players sharp and motivated year-round

Sessions run fall through winter at Basin Recreation Fieldhouse.

Parent Guidelines

Your involvement matters. Here's how you can set your player up for success every session.

  • School first. Academic performance always takes priority.
  • Fuel properly. Ensure your player is well-nourished, hydrated, and rested before every session.
  • Encourage wall ball. 4–6 hours per week builds the stick skills that transform players.
  • Arrive early. Plan to get to sessions before they start — not on time.
  • Pack the night before. Have gear ready the evening before every session to avoid morning rushes.

Financial Aid →

We believe cost should never be a barrier to participation. Financial aid options are available.
